The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. (Gender Specified)bright eyes are intent. (Gender Specified)eager body quivers. Suddenly (Gender Specified)begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, (Gender Specified)legs carrying (Gender Specified)faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again, The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... I Only Wanted You They say memories are golden well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. I'm Still Here Friend please don't mourn for me I'm still here, though you don't see. I'm right by your side each night and day and within your heart I long to stay. My body is gone but I'm always near. I'm everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I'll never depart as long as you keep me alive in your heart. I'll never wander out of your sight- I'm the brightest star on a summer night. I'll never be beyond your reach- I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach. I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around and the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, The clear cooll water in quiet pond. I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring. I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine. When you start thinking there's no one to love you, you can talk to me through the Lord above you. I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you'll feel mly presence in the soft summer breeze. I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I'm the smile you see on a baby's face. Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace! Author Unknown Lend Me A Pup (Gender Specified Poem) I will lend to you for a while a pup, God said, for you to love her while she lives and to mourn for her when she is gone. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe for two or three, but will you, till I call her back take care of her for me? She'll bring her charms to gladden you and (should her stay be brief) you'll always have her memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from earth return. But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn. I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true, and from the folk that crowd life's land I have chosen you. Now will you give her all your love? Nor think the labor vain. Nor hate me when I come to take my pup back again. I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done." For all the joys this pup will bring, the risk of grief you'll run. Will you shelter her with tenderness? Will you love her while you may? And for the happiness you'll know forever-grateful stay. But should I call her back much sooner than you've planned, please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand. If, by your love, you've managed my wishes to achieve, in memory of her that you've loved, cherish every moment with your faithful bundle, and know she loved you too. Author Unknown Lend Me A Kitten (Gender Specified Poem) I will lend to you for a while a kitten, God said, for you to love her while she lives and to mourn for her when she is gone. Author Unknown Lend Me A Foal (Gender Specified Poem) I will lend to you for a while a foal, God said, for you to love her while she lives and to mourn for her when she is gone. Maybe for one or twenty years, or days or months, you see. But will you, till I call her back take care of her for me? She'll bring her charms to gladden you and (should her stay be brief) you'll always have her memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from earth return. But there are lessons taught below I want this foal to learn. I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true, and from the folk that crowd life's land I have chosen you. But should I call her back much sooner than you've planned, please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand. For though I’ll call her home to me, this promise I make to you, for all the love and care you gave, she’ll wait for you, inside Heaven’s Gate. Author Unknown Lend Me A Bird (Gender Specified Poem) "I will lend to you for a while, a bird", God said. For you to love him while he lives and to mourn for him when he is dead. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe for two or three. But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief, You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise that he will stay, since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught below I want this bird to learn. I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true. And from the folks that crowd life's land, I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love; nor think the labor vain; Nor hate me when I come to take my lovely bird again? I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, for all the joys this bird will bring, the risk of grief we'll run." Will you shelter him with tenderness? Will you love him while you may? And for the happiness you'll know forever grateful stay? If, by your love, you've managed, my wishes to achieve, In memory of him you've loved; be thankful; do not grieve. Cherish every moment of your feathered charge. He filled your home with songs of joy the time he was alive. Let not his passing take from you those memories to enjoy. "I will lend to you, a Bird", God said, and teach you all you have to do. And when I call him back to heaven, you will know he loved you too. Author Unknown |
