URN SIZING

Choosing the Correct Urn Size
Because pets come in a variety of sizes, Treasured Pet Creations offers a range of urn sizes and styles, so you can choose the most appropriate urn for your needs. Urn sizes are given in cubic inches and refer to the capacity to hold a given volume of cremated remains.

*Industry standard in urn sizing is one (1) pound of weight = one (1) cubic inch of space. (approx.)

We recommend that you use the Industry Standard as a guideline only.   Remember: The best way to determine the cubic inch size of urn you should purchase is to ask the crematiorium about the amount of cubic inches of cremains you can expect when the cremation process is complete.   Many varibles such as skeletal size,  how long the cremains are in the cremation chamber,  and the amount of processing that is done to the cremains once cremation is completed,  come into play.   If your pet weight is at;  or near the maximum pet weight for this urn size,  we strongly recommend that you go one urn size larger to assure you have enough room.  If you plan to spread some of the cremains in a special place of your beloved pet, than the size of the urn is less critical and you can can follow the industry standard of 1 pound of weight = 1 cubic inch of space.
